I understand that this application is a request only, and approval is only granted once all applicable forms/supporting documentation has been submitted to the Parks & Recreation Department. The issuance of a special event permit is at the discretion of and requires approval by the Parks and Recreation Director and/or Town Manager.
Failure to submit accurate, complete, or required information may result in the denial of your permit request. If not submitted here, you also agree to submit all supporting documentation at least 14 days prior to your event start date.
In consideration of this special event permit application, signatories, applicants, participants, volunteers, and property owner(s) hereby indemnify, hold harmless, waive, release, and discharge in advance, the Town of Mammoth Lakes, including their officers, agents, servants, volunteers and employees, from any and all claims for liability, including, but not limited to, damages of death, bodily injury, personal injury, and property damage, which may have or which may hereafter occur as a result of said activity, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entity named above and even if such persons and entity are otherwise strictly liable.
We agree to ensure single-use plastic bottles water bottles <= 500ml are not being sold or distributed at our event, in accordance with the Town’s plastic water bottle prohibition.
We agree to not use Styrofoam food containers, in accordance with the Town’s Styrofoam prohibition.
For large events (exceeding 2,000 people/day)
We agree to work with a local non-profit to donate any excess food instead of throwing it away.
We agree to submit a plan to aottati@townofmammothlakes.ca.gov that shows how we will divert at least 75% of waste from landfills.
