Community Recreation Center (CRC) Update It was a big week at the CRC! Hamel Contracting Inc., the Town’s contractor for the new Community Recreation Center (CRC) completed the majority of the concrete slab. The photos show workers placing concrete on the eastside of the CRC that includes the lobby area and restrooms, multi-purpose space, 4 locker rooms and player bench area. Over two days the crew also completed the spectator area on the southside of the rink. Crews now focus on preparing the westside of the CRC for concrete that includes the storage, mechanical, electrical and Zamboni garage with snow pit. On Tuesday, the subcontractor for the ice rink floor commences work that will complete the Olympic ice rink slab (100’x200’), connected to a Trane 300 Ton Air-Cooled Helical Rotary Water Chiller.
Temporary park closure: For the duration of construction for the new Community Recreation Center (estimated 12 months), the Mammoth Creek Park playground, restrooms and parking lot will be CLOSED to the public. The Town will maintain public restrooms on the eastside of Mammoth Creek Park accessible from the multi-use path. We invite you to enjoy one of our many playgrounds at Trails End Park, Shady Rest Park and the Community Center. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work towards enhancing our community recreation amenities. For additional information about the new CRC, please visit the dedicated website and look for #crcupdates on the Town's Facebook page.

2021 Mammoth Gran Fondo CANCELLEDWith the recent closure of Inyo National Forest and strained firefighting resources during these difficult times, we are sad to announce the cancellation of the 2021 Mammoth Gran Fondo. While there are no fires threatening Mammoth Lakes or the surrounding areas at this time, wildfires continue to spread across the west and firefighting resources are extremely limited. Our thoughts are with the firefighters and communities across the west affected by these fires. For registration information please click here.

MONO COUNTY ISSUES INDOOR MASK ORDER FOLLOWING INCREASE IN LOCAL COVID-19 CASESEffective August 6, Mono County issued a Local Health Order requiring the use of face coverings (masks) for both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents and visitors within indoor public spaces. The Order is in response to increasing COVID-19 cases locally and statewide, coupled with the added concerns of the Delta variant, as well as a number of “breakthrough” cases (positive COVID-19 cases in fully vaccinated individuals). Unvaccinated residents, and visitors are urged to schedule a vaccination appointment or attend an upcoming Mono County Walk-In Clinic to receive their FREE, safe and highly effective vaccine.
