Beat the Heat at the Whitmore Pool!

The Whitmore Pool is OPEN for full operations (including swim lessons and public recreational swimming). Join us daily for public swim and on weekends from 10am-6pm on Saturday and 12-6pm on Sunday. Lap swim is currently scheduled every morning Monday-Friday and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Youtheatre Camp Performances

Don't miss these artistic masterpieces by our local youth. Performances will take place at the Sam's Woodsite on Friday, August 13 ('Grease') and Saturday, August 14 ('Beauty and the Beast') from 2pm. Admission is only $5 (children are free) - first-come, first served. Cash only.


Adult Softball League Playoffs

The Adult Softball League begins playoffs on Monday, August 9. Please view the Men's League and Coed League standings and schedules. 


Parks and Facilities Update

Whitmore Pool, Trails End Park, Volcom Brothers Skatepark, Shady Rest DiscGolfPark, Shady Rest Park, Whitmore Recreation Area, Community Tennis Courts (1-4) and the multi-use pathways throughout town and the Lakes Basin are OPEN. Learn more about our parks and facilities here. 


Community Recreation Center (CRC) Update 

Work continues on the site in preparation for the installation of the Sprung Performance Arena. Subcontractors are working on the building foundation along with the installation of underground utilities. As per the Town's Municipal Code, work is permitted on the site from Monday - Saturday from 7:00am – 8:00pm. 


Temporary park closure: For the duration of construction for the new Community Recreation Center (estimated 12 months), the Mammoth Creek Park playground, restrooms and parking lot will be CLOSED to the public. The Town will maintain public restrooms on the eastside of Mammoth Creek Park accessible from the multi-use path.  We invite you to enjoy one of our many playgrounds at Trails End Park, Shady Rest Park and the Community Center.  We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work towards enhancing our community recreation amenities. MONO COUNTY ISSUES INDOOR MASK ORDER FOLLOWING INCREASE IN LOCAL COVID-19 CASES

Effective Friday, August 6, Mono County issued a Local Health Order requiring the use of face coverings (masks) for both vaccinated and unvaccinated residents and visitors within indoor public spaces. The Order is in response to increasing COVID-19 cases locally and statewide, coupled with the added concerns of the Delta variant, as well as a number of “breakthrough” cases (positive COVID-19 cases in fully vaccinated individuals). Unvaccinated residents, and visitors are urged to schedule a vaccination appointment or attend an upcoming Mono County Walk-In Clinic to receive their FREE, safe and highly effective vaccine.

Learn how you can camp like a pro this summer. The Eastern Sierra Dispersed Camping Collaboration (ESDCC) developed a five-point campaign to improve management of dispersed camping. Summer of Trail Days! 

Trail Days are in full swing this summer with more opportunities for hard work and fun than ever. The Mammoth Lakes Trail System team invites you to take advantage of volunteer stewardship opportunities through September. Sign up for a shift here. As always, all ages and ability levels are welcome. Trail Days are made possible by the Town of Mammoth Lakes, Inyo National Forest, Mammoth Lakes Recreation, and Mammoth’s own Measure R! Shady Rest Open

Head on over the the Shady Rest DiscGolfPark® to catch all the action of the first PDGA sanctioned Disc Golf tournament on Saturday, August 14, beginning at 9:30am. For more details, please click here.


Mammoth Track Club 

Practices at the Whitmore Track run every Tuesday morning at 7am from June through October. Membership is $50 for the season and you can register here.

High Sierra Agility Challenge

Eastern Sierra Dog Agility, Inc (ESAG, Inc) and the North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) will be hosting the High Sierra Agility Challenge on August 20-22 at Whitmore Ball Field 3. For more information, please click here.

FREE Yoga and Guided Meditation

Join Mono County Behavioral Health for FREE Yoga and Guided Mediation at Shady Rest Park (Softball Field 1) on Thursdays from 1:30pm-3:00pm.


Friday Flow Yoga

Join Erin Koehler for Friday Flow Yoga at Shady Rest Park (near the Skate Park) on Fridays at 8:30am. All levels and donations welcome.


Elevate Mammoth

Elevate is Mammoth Hospital's community prevention, wellness, and performance institute focused on improving the health of our community through facilitating positive lifestyle choices and providing the necessary knowledge, resources, and skills. Elevate was launched in the Spring of 2021 by Mammoth Hospital. Join Mammoth Lakes library for a virtual story every Wednesday at 10:30am in English and in Spanish on the first and third Fridays of the month via the Mammoth Lakes Library Facebook Page. Mammoth Library also has a resource page to keep school aged children busy while learning from home.
