Defensible Space and Community Clean Up Event
Join us on Friday, May 21 and Saturday, May 22 to grab a bag and help clean up our town! The Town in partnership with
Mammoth Disposal,
Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce, and
Volunteer Eastern Sierra (VES) have scheduled a Defensible Space and Community Clean-Up event. This year’s event is different from previous years as there is only one location to drop-off your green waste or trash. Town staff/volunteers will NOT be collecting yard waste or household trash from properties. All trash must be dropped off (for FREE…) at the Town yard (299 Commerce Drive). Learn more about where to get those orange bags and where to drop off your trash and green waste
here or to
volunteer.
Adopt-A-Hole Sponsorship Program
Online requests for the Shady Rest DiscGolfPark® Adopt-A-Hole Sponsorship Program are now open! The Shady Rest DiscGolfPark® Adopt-A-Hole Program will ensure sustainable funding for on-going maintenance and course enhancements. To further broaden the appeal of the course for all ages and abilities, this summer the Parks and Recreation Department will be installing new recreational short tee pads and tee signs. The program is open to everyone – businesses, organizations, clubs, groups, families, and individuals. The Parks and Recreation Department will accept sponsors for the Adopt A Hole program on a first-come, first-serve basis, consistent with the Department's Sponsorship Policy.
Whitmore Pool Open for Lap Swim
Lap swim is scheduled every morning Monday-Friday and Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. A maximum of two (2) swimmers will be allowed per lane at any given time - swimmers sharing a lane are required to enter the pool at opposite ends. Swim times are scheduled for a duration of 30/45 minutes to allow for rotation of swimmers. Lap Swim is offered on a first-come basis. Swimmers are asked to be considerate of all patrons’ access to the pool. Learn more at www.whitmorepool.com.

Community Recreation Center (CRC) Update
Hamel Contracting Inc., the Town of Mammoth Lakes’ contractor for the new Community Recreation Center (CRC) continues to prepare the site for the foundation for the
Sprung Performance Arena and utilities.
For the duration of construction for the new Community Recreation Center (estimated 12 months), the Mammoth Creek Park playground, restrooms and parking lot will be CLOSED to the public. The Town will maintain public restrooms on the eastside of Mammoth Creek Park accessible from the multi-use path. We invite you to enjoy one of our many playgrounds at Trails End Park, Shady Rest Park and the Community Center. We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work towards enhancing our community recreation amenities.
The CRC is the major recreation amenity at Mammoth Creek Park that includes three complementary components: the natural play area, a National Demonstration Site 7,700 sq. ft. inclusive playground and the new minor-mobility hub with parking for up to 118 vehicles. For additional information about the new CRC, please visit the dedicated
website.
