Summer Camps and Programs

Start planning your summer! Our annual calendar of camps and programs has been updated with our summer camps, adult softball, swim lessons, soccer camps and more! Review the our summer products here. 

  • Youth Summer Pre-Registration will open on May 17, 2021 at 8:00 am PST and will be limited to one summer product per child.
  • Summer Registration will open May 24 at 8:00 am PST with our remaining youth products and adult programming.
  • Be sure to submit a 2021 waiver prior to registering. Waivers can be found here.
  • Soccer camps are open for registration now, register for a UKIS camp click here or Challenger camp click here.

Mammoth Lakes Winter Fitness Challenge

Last month! Join our winter fitness challenge this March and challenge yourself to 50+ Miles by March 31. Whether it be skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, running, biking, sledding, climbing, ice skating, etc. log those active miles and join our winter fitness community.

How it works:

  1. Pick your activity
  2. Log your miles
  3. Submit your mileage as you complete them or weekly by taking a pic of your log and emailing it to parksandrec@townofmammothlakes.ca.gov
  4. We will update our standings every Monday here and on Facebook (Mammoth Parks N Rec). 

All submissions due March 31. Prizes awarded April 3.

MLTS - Trail Grooming

MLTS is now grooming a basic network of multi-use winter trails in the Sherwins Area as well as Shady Rest.  A map of Shady Rest Park trails is available here and an expanded winter recreation map for Inyo Forest is available here. Updated trail conditions can be found here.

Mammoth Lakes Library: Storytime ToGo

Reserve your Storytime ToGo kit from Mammoth Lakes Library by calling 760-934-4777. Each kit contains 1-2 books, craft supplies and some educational learning activities. Reserve yours today! 

MAC After School Programs

The After-School Art Clubs are available for students in the Mammoth Unified & Eastern Sierra school districts.  The After-School Art Club is a weekly club with a rotation of learning in visual art, media arts, theatre, and dance. The program is open to children ages 5 – 17 and will provide students the opportunity to express themselves artistically in a safe and nurturing environment. Through our After-School Art Clubs, students in Mono County are exposed to art they may not receive in school. As often as possible, the arts and craft projects will include cultural components. Mono County Virtual Peapod

Socialize with other families in Mono County online in English each Monday and Friday at 10:00 am with Mono Kids Virtual Peapods click here for the Zoom links and on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm on Facebook Live. Spanish Peapod meets virtually on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 1:30. More information is available here.

Mammoth Lakes Library Story Hour 

Join Mammoth Lakes library for a virtual story hour Wednesdays at 10:30 am in English and in Spanish on the first and third Fridays of the month via the Mammoth Lakes Library Facebook Page. Mammoth Library also has a resource page to keep school aged children busy while learning from home.

Check out Community Service Solutions Quarantine Kitchen Live on Facebook every Friday for some yummy and healthy recipe ideas. Fun for the whole family to follow along plus great ideas for staying healthy on a tight budget. More information is available here. 

Fitness Fridays

Kids can join fitness Fridays for a free virtual fitness class. K-2 is held from 12:15-12:45pm and grades 3-5 is held from 1:00-1:30. Email Jenna (jmccarthycss@gmail.com) to register and get the zoom link. 

Parks and Facilities Update

Our Parks crew is out blowing sidewalks for safe pedestrian travel but please be aware of white out conditions and icy conditions. We recommend you stay home until this storm cycle is over. Restrooms at Mammoth Creek Park and Trails End Park are closed due to the freezing temperatures. For a full update visit our parks and facilities status page here.

MLFF 2020 Best of the Fest Shorts

Join Mammoth Lakes Film Festival for free at this year's inaugural MLFF Best of the Fest Shorts Presentation showing March 24 through March 28. Check out some of the most innovative emerging filmmakers from around the world as we screen their shorts from the 2020 festival. This will be a free five day event. Come support the filmmakers of tomorrow!

ESAC's Virtual Backcountry Travel & Avalanche Education Series

Join ESAC for some free avalanche education on Wednesday, March 3 and Wednesday, April 7 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm via Zoom. Previous education series have been recorded and are available to view here. 


Town Host Program Seeking Applicants

MLTPA and MLTS have created a Community Host program to ensure our visitors have a positive experience here in Mammoth Lakes and the Eastern Sierra. Hosts are tasked with providing standardized, accurate and current information, sharing their knowledge of the local geography, reporting maintenance issues to managers, and offering basic first aid supplies. A Host is expected to work primarily during times of peak visitation, typically on holidays and weekends. Both paid and volunteer opportunities available. Reach out to gretchenhaselbauer@mltpa.org to apply and join the growing team.
