Thanksgiving Recipe Raffle

Let's make this Thanksgiving extra delicious! Share your favorite Thanksgiving recipes on our Facebook event page (https://rb.gy/dv9ak3), every recipe submitted will be entered into a raffle to win $20. Share a picture of your recipe card, a web link, or a picture of the completed recipe with recipe in post. Submit your recipes between Monday November 9 and Monday, November 23 at 7:00 pm, raffle drawing held on November 24 so your can spend your $20 on your Thanksgiving meal. Help us build the most delicious and well tested Thanksgiving menu. Appetizers, drinks, main dishes, side dishes, desserts, leftovers, etc.

Ice Skating Lessons 

Join our Ice Skating Lessons offered by certified US Figure Skating staff. Classes begin with the fundamentals and are structured according to the U.S. Figure Skating Association’s Basic Skills Program. The curriculum is designed to:

  1. Make your skating experience safe and pleasurable.
  2. Improve your skills through progressive levels that will yield confidence and satisfaction.
  3. Build a solid foundation for ice skating or ice hockey offered at the Mammoth Ice Rink.
Open to all ages and abilities. Classes will be held on Wednesdays between 3:15 and 5:00 p.m. Our Fall Session is December 2-23 and costs $35 and our winter session is January 6-February 10 and costs $50. Get more info and register here. 
Ongoing Programs

Mono County Library: Illustrated Stories 

Join the Mono County Library for this free extra-curricular activity and explore the evolutionary development of human storytelling throughout the school year. Open to all Mono County teens and young adults in grades 9-12. Each series will have span multiple weeks with a different theme. The Illustrated Stories on Thursday evenings from 5:00 to 6:00 pm through December 10, join for one evening or the full series and discover the way images can tell a story. Get more info and register today! 

MAC After School Programs

The After-School Art Clubs are available for students in the Mammoth Unified & Eastern Sierra school districts.  The After-School Art Club is a weekly club with a rotation of learning in visual art, media arts, theatre, and dance. The program is open to children ages 5 – 17 and will provide students the opportunity to express themselves artistically in a safe and nurturing environment. Through our After-School Art Clubs, students in Mono County are exposed to art they may not receive in school. As often as possible, the arts and craft projects will include cultural components. Mammoth Lakes Library Virtual Homework Zone

Volunteer high school students will work with K-8 students as Homework Coaches, using their own academic experience to help along their younger peers.  Each VHZ is facilitated by the Youth Librarian, Miss Carissa, though Homework Coaches will work with individual students or small groups in zoom break-out rooms.  In these distant times, one-on-one connections like this can make a big difference. Mono County Virtual Peapod

Socialize with other families in Mono County online in English each Monday and Friday at 10:00 am with Mono Kids Virtual Peapods click here for the Zoom links and on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm on Facebook Live. Spanish Peapod meets virtually on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 1:30. More information is available here.

Mammoth Lakes Library Story Hour 

Join Mammoth Lakes library for a virtual story hour Wednesdays at 10:30 am in English and in Spanish on the first and third Fridays of the month via the Mammoth Lakes Library Facebook Page. Mammoth Library also has a resource page to keep school aged children busy while learning from home.


DSES Weekly Virtual Programming 

Offering recorded programming on cycling, communication, adaptive workouts, backcountry guiding, story time, gardening and more! Get more info and take a dive into these fun resources today!

With freezing temperatures and snow the Parks Department have CLOSED the following amenities for the the winter season.

  • Community Tennis Courts
  • Shady Rest DiscGolfPark®
  • Bike Trail access to the Lakes Basin 
  • Restrooms and drinking fountains at Shady Rest Park. Portable restrooms are in place.
  • Restrooms and drinking fountains at Whitmore Recreation Area. Portable restrooms are in place.
  • Restrooms at Mammoth Creek Park East
  • Drinking fountains at Trails End Park/Volcom Brothers and Little Brothers Skatepark

World Kindness Day Virtual Art Show 

The World Kindness Day Virtual Art Show will be held Friday, November 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m via Zoom. Mono County residents created unique pieces of artwork representing what kindness means to them.
