Defensible Space and Community Clean Up

Volunteers Needed: Defensible Space and Community Clean Up 

Clean up around your home creating defensible space and dispose of your green waste for free between June 25-27 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Town Yard, 299 Commerce Drive. Community Clean Up will consist of picking up trash in our parks and around our trails on Saturday, June 27. Receive supplies and assignments at Footloose Sports between 9:00am and 11:30 then drop off your bag at the Town Yard when you are done between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm. A bag per person really helps! For every bag collected you will be entered into a raffle to win some local prizes. Volunteers needed to monitor bag drop off and hand out raffle tickets as well as helping hand out supplies and assignments at Footloose on Saturday, June 27. Register to help at here.

Parks and Facilities Update

Community Tennis Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4 as well as the restrooms are now open. Shady Rest Park including the new Shady Rest Disc GolfPark, Whitmore Recreation Area, Volcom Brothers Skate Park, Mammoth Creek Park and Town Multi Use Pathways (to Twin Lakes Parking) are open along with public restrooms at these parks and facilities. Mammoth Lakes Library Story Hour and Curbside Pickup

Join Mammoth Lakes library for a virtual story hour Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 am in English and  Saturdays at 10:30 am in Spanish via the Mammoth Lakes Library Facebook Page. Mammoth Library also has a resource page to cure those cabin fever blues. NEW! Curbside pick up available. 


DSES Weekly Virtual Programming

VC's Round 2

Round 2 will consist of the same course as round 1 with some added features. Compete with locals on a mountain biking loop out at the Sherwin Creek Connectors (Sherwin Creek Road) today, Thursday, June 18 from 1:00-5:00 pm. Get more info and join the fun today! 

MAC Art and Wine Rainbow Falls with Julie Rolfe

Create your own acrylic rainbow lips this Saturday, June 23 from 5:30-8:30 at the MAC Gallery and Art Center. Cost is $35 and includes all materials and a glass of wine, get more info and register today!

Challenger Sports Soccer Camps - In person & online

Challenger Sports will be able to host their International Soccer Camp (July 13-17) and Tetra Brazil Soccer Camp (August 3-7). They have also developed a virtual camp curriculum for week-long camps beginning June 1. For more information, or to register, please visit their website. Any registrations for in-person camps that are cancelled by Challenger Sports will receive a FULL refund.

UK International Soccer Camps - In person

UK International Soccer will be able to host their Classic Soccer Camps (June 29-July 3 and July 27-31). For more information, or to register, please visit their website. Any registrations for camps that are cancelled by UK International Soccer will be moved to 2021, free of charge.

Play-Well TEKnologies Virtual Lego Camps - Online

Mammoth Parks and Recreation Department have partnered with Play-Well TEKnologies to bring you TWO online Lego camps this summer. Camps will take place July 6-10 and August 3-7 from 9am-12pm. Upon registration, participants will be provided with a list of materials they can source from personal collections or have delivered prior to the start of camp (additional materials fee). Shakespeare Camp returns to Mammoth this July

Shakespeare Kids Summer Performance Camp is a wonderful opportunity for your child to have fun learning & DOING Shakespeare. We combine specialty workshops in swords, improv, crafts, dance AND play rehearsal in an enriching fun summer camp atmosphere IN THE WOODS.  Camp ends with a performance of an edited version of Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing. Dog License and Vaccine Clinic

Join the Mammoth Lakes Police Department at their annual dog licensing and vaccine clinic this Saturday, June 20 from 3:00-5:00pm at the Mammoth Lakes Police Department. Vaccines provided y Dr. Teslaa of Alpen Vet: $10 rabies, $20 tag for altered dog and $50 tag for unaltered dog. 

Snowcreek Athletic Club

Reopening  Friday, June 19! Temperature checks will be required at the door along with a reactivating your account and a new waiver. Masks will be required at all times. 

Mammoth Mountain 

Set to reopen June 26 for Mountain Bike Park, Scenic Gondola Rides, restaurants and more! Lodging reservations beginning June 19. Bring on summer! 


Yosemite Pass Through Program 

The Yosemite Pass Through Program continues to be in place for residents to travel through Yosemite National Park in a non-recreational capacity. Residents will be required to present their California Drivers License, California ID Card, or USPS permanent change of residence documentation indicating one of the authorized communities as their permanent residence. A pass will be provided upon entrance and must be presented upon exit. Approved communities include: Benton, Crowley Lake, June Lake, Lee Vining, Mammoth Lakes, Mono Lake, Swall Meadows and Bishop. People are under a lot of stress in the new world trying to cope with COVID-19.
