Mono County has CLOSED all playgrounds, skateparks and public restrooms until further notice. The parks themselves are not 'restricted' but the amenities listed above are CLOSED at the following locations:Benton Park, Chalfont Park, Crowley Park, Crowley Skate Park, Gull Lake Park, Guss Hess Park, Mono Lake Park, Bridgeport Park, Bridgeport Marina and Walker Park. Multiple roads that access tourist attractions in the Mono County area have also been CLOSED. These include the roads leading to Travertine Hot Springs, Buckeye Hot Springs, Whitmore Hot Springs and Bodie State Park.

Inyo County has the following BLM and LADWP closures in place - the Owens Rive Gorge, including Control Gorge; Middle and Upper Gorge parking areas; Happy Boulders and Sad Boulders trails and parking areas; the Long Valley Hot Springs; and the Alabama National Scenic Area. Land management agencies are actively patrolling these areas, and violations of closures could result in a fine.

The Inyo National Forest has CLOSED developed recreational sites and campgrounds throughout California through April 30, 2020. This includes Shady Rest Park, under permit from Inyo National Forest, and following campgrounds within the Mammoth Ranger District: Upper Soda Springs, Pumice Flat, Pumice Flat Group, Reds Meadow, Agnew Meadows Horse, Agnew Meadows Group, Agnew Meadows Family, Minaret Falls, Old Shady Rest, New Shady Rest, Pine Glen Family/Group, Sherwin Creek, Twin Lakes, Lake Mary, Lake George, Pine City, Coldwater, Convict Lake, Crowley (BLM), Brown's Owens River (private) and Mammoth Mountain RV Park (private - closed to non-essential business). Dispersed camping is currently permitted in the Inyo National Forrest, but please follow social distancing guidelines, leave no trace principles, and make good decisions regarding your health and safety. The Mammoth Welcome Center is CLOSED, but visitor questions are being answered via phone, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.

The Inyo Forest Supervisor is proposing to close the Lakes Basin including the access via Old Mammoth Road, the roads at Minaret Vista to Reds Meadow, and the Joaquin Ridge Road through June 30, 2020. Public access to Reds Meadow/Devils Postpile (walking/bikes) would be prohibited. The Lakes Basin Multi-Use Path would remain OPEN. The Forest Service is requesting a letter of support for the closures from the impacted local governments.

The Bureau of Land Management has temporarily CLOSED all developed campgrounds and developed recreation sites in California. The closure will remain in effect until such time as conditions allow for safe use of recreation sites. While developed recreation sites are closed, most dispersed camping and trails remain open and available to the public.

Bodie State Park is currently closed until further notice. 

 
The Mono County Fishing Opener has been postponed. The postponement will expire May 31, 2020. All year-round fishing locations, including the West Walker River, the East Walker River and sections of the Upper Owens River and Hot Creek, will remain open. A reduced bag limit of 0 trout is in place and only artificial lures with barbless hooks may be used.
