Donate and/or Volunteer for the Mammoth Lakes PPE Drive

Collecting bootie covers, masks and more to distribute to help keep our community and medical employees safe. Donations and distributions taken Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 10am to 2pm  at the Mountain Center at The Village on Canyon Blvd in Mammoth Lakes. Donate or sign up for a volunteer shift!

A SOCIAL DISTANCING EASTER EGG HUNT

Let's do something fun and win some Booky Joint and Fun Shop Gift Cards!

How To Participate?
Decorate a paper egg and display it in your window, or on your deck or porch. Either create one yourself, download a template on our website, or pick up a FREE printable from COVID-19 Information Display Cases around town.
Post a photo of your creation the Facebook Event Page by Friday, April 10 at noon and leave your masterpiece visible in your window/deck/porch until Sunday, April 12 at 7pm.

Find Eggs and Like Your Favorites
Look for eggs while you are out walking or driving over the Easter Weekend. Vote for your favorite egg by 'liking' the photo on this page. Each 'like' will be entered into the draw for a prize.

Awards for the Top 3 Most Popular Eggs and the Staff Pick will be announced on Easter Sunday at 7pm.

The food bank is seeking donations. Support the local food bank! Donations can be taken online here.  

2020 Waivers - Submit Today! 

Calling all waivers! Fill out one waiver between February 1 and December 31 for all your parks and recreation activities. Submit your waivers to lplum@townofmammothlakes.ca.gov. 


New! Pre-Registration - Monday, May 4, 2020 (tentative)

In an effort to be fair and equitable to all children we will be conducting a pre-registration where each child will be eligible to enroll in one summer product (excluding 3rd party camps and programs). These camps and products would include Wilderness Camp, Girl Power, Aquatics Camp, Wave Rave Skate Camp, swim lessons and more. This pre-registration will not include STEM Lego or soccer camps. Pre-registration will open on the registration website on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 8:00 am and remain open for 24 hours. More information coming soon! 



Open Registration for Summer - Monday, May 11 (tentative)

All remaining spots after pre-registration will open for unlimited enrollment on Monday, April 6 at 8:00 am PST. Please make sure you have a waiver on file before enrolling. Register here.


Summer and Fall Recreation Scholarships

We have extended the application period for scholarship requests. The closing date for applications is now April 19, 2020 at 5pm. Please visit the Tony Colosardo Scholarship website for more information.

Valentine Reserve/SNARL has pushed back their summer registration to May 1, 2020. You can view their camps/classes here.

We encourage you to visit Mono County Health Department's Covid 19 Website for information and guidance on COVID-19 here in Mono County.

A virtual community meeting will be held tonight, Thursday, April 9 at 5:30 p.m. Followed by a community meeting in Spanish at 6:30 pm. More information here. 


Socialize with other families in Mono County online each Monday and Friday at 10:00 am with Mono Kids Virtual Peapods. 

Join Mammoth Lakes library for a virtual story hour each weekday at 10:30 am via the Mammoth Lakes Library Facebook Page. Mammoth Library also has a resource page to cure those cabin fever blues. 

Stay Connected with Mono County Behavior Health hosting live events Monday-Friday at 10:30 am in English and 1:00 pm in Spanish on the Mono County Behavior Health Facebook Page . Info on current services, meditation techniques, art projects and more!

Stay connected with the community through the Community Howl occurring each evening at 8:00 p.m. and the #StayHomeMono campaign. We are in this together! 




ALL TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, SKATEPARKS AND FACILITIES ARE CLOSED, EXCEPT FOR WHITMORE RECREATION AREA.Please adhere to social distancing recommendations as directed by the CDC including keeping at least a 6 ft distance between yourself and others.

Mono County has CLOSED all playgrounds, skateparks and public restrooms until further notice. The parks themselves are not 'restricted' but the amenities listed above are CLOSED, with signage in place, at the following locations:Benton Park, Chalfont Park, Crowley Park, Crowley Skate Park, Gull Lake Park, Guss Hess Park, Mono Lake Park, Bridgeport Park, Bridgeport Marina and Walker Park. Thank you for your understanding at this time.

BLM and Inyo National Forest have closed developed recreational sites and campgrounds throughout California. Trails and land are still accessible but please follow social distancing guidelines, leave no trace principles, and make good decisions regarding your health and safety. 

In an effort to help flatten the curve Bodie State Park is currently closed until further notice. 

In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the area, multiple roads that access tourist attractions in the Mono County area have been CLOSED.

  • These include the roads leading to Travertine Hot Springs, Buckeye Hot Springs, Whitmore Hot Springs and Bodie State Park.
  • LADWP closures  include the Owens River Gorge, including Control Gorge, Middle and Upper Gorge parking areas; and the parking areas at Happy and Sad Boulders.’ 
  • BLM closures include the Alabama Hills National Scenic Area, Happy Boulders and Sad Boulders Trail, and the Long Valley Hot Springs.
 
Land management agencies are actively patrolling these areas, and violation of the closures could result in a fine.
