ALL TOWN OF MAMMOTH LAKES PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS, SKATEPARKS AND FACILITIES ARE CLOSED, EXCEPT FOR WHITMORE RECREATION AREA.Please adhere to social distancing recommendations as directed by the CDC including keeping at least a 6 ft distance between yourself and others.
Mono County has CLOSED all playgrounds, skateparks and public restrooms until further notice. The parks themselves are not 'restricted' but the amenities listed above are CLOSED, with signage in place, at the following locations:Benton Park, Chalfont Park, Crowley Park, Crowley Skate Park, Gull Lake Park, Guss Hess Park, Mono Lake Park, Bridgeport Park, Bridgeport Marina and Walker Park. Thank you for your understanding at this time.
BLM and
Inyo National Forest have closed developed recreational sites and campgrounds throughout California. Trails and land are still accessible but please follow social distancing guidelines, leave no trace principles, and make good decisions regarding your health and safety.
In an effort to help flatten the curve
Bodie State Park is currently closed until further notice.
In an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the area, multiple roads that access tourist attractions in the Mono County area have been CLOSED.
- These include the roads leading to Travertine Hot Springs, Buckeye Hot Springs, Whitmore Hot Springs and Bodie State Park.
- LADWP closures include the Owens River Gorge, including Control Gorge, Middle and Upper Gorge parking areas; and the parking areas at Happy and Sad Boulders.’
- BLM closures include the Alabama Hills National Scenic Area, Happy Boulders and Sad Boulders Trail, and the Long Valley Hot Springs.
Land management agencies are actively patrolling these areas, and violation of the closures could result in a fine.
