Applications for Summer and Fall Scholarships Open

The Tony Colasardo Scholarship Fund provides full or partial scholarships for the many popular camps and programs offered by the Town of Mammoth Lakes’ Parks and Recreation Department. Now accepting applications for summer and fall camps and programs. Apply online here: https://www.townofmammothlakes.ca.gov/944/Tony-Colasardo-Scholarship-Fund or in person at 437 Old Mammoth Road, Suite 230. All applications are due by March 15, 2020. 

Youth Hockey Tournament - Saturday, Feb 15-Monday, Feb 17

Come support your local youth hockey players as they battle it out on the ice this weekend. Sixteen teams from across California will test their skills at the Mammoth Ice Rink this weekend. Check out a live schedule at www.MammothIceRink.com. 

Community Skate Night - Monday, February 17

Enjoy community skate night at the Mammoth Ice Rink this Monday, February 17 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Admission and rentals just $7 while supplies last.

2020 Summer Recreation Expo - March 31

The 2020 Summer Recreation Expo is on March 31 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Mammoth High School Gym. Learn about new recreation opportunities for all ages 1-100 including out new pre-registration program. One raffle ticket per entry with option to purchase additional tickets, all proceeds go to the Tony Colasardo Scholarship Fund. Grand prize is one free camp to be selected and enrolled that night!

New! Pre-Registration Program - Wednesday, April 1

In the effort to be fair and equitable to all children we will be conducting a pre-registration program where each child will be able to enroll in one summer product prior to open enrollment. This year pre-registration will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at 8:00 a.m. PST and will be available online or in person for 24 hours. More information including screen shots of what the registration page will look like and a practice website coming soon! Please make sure you have a waiver on file before enrolling.

Instructional Basketball
This free program is open to children in first and second grade to introduce basketball fundamentals.
Dates: February 6 – March 19, 2020
Time: 5:15 to 6:00 pm
Location: Mammoth Middle School Gym
Age: 1^st and 2^nd grade
Cost: Free – open to 1^st and 2^nd grade students only

After School Art
Get Creative with artist Kelly Turner. Children will be working on their drawing skills. Some instruction but the main focus is on seeing like an artist. Really inspiring, fun still life boxes set up to be drawn with colored pencils, pastels, markers and watercolors. Smocks available. Please send child with water and snacks.

Time: after school until 5:00 p.m.
Location: Mammoth Lakes Community Center
Ages: Elementary – High School

Open Studio
Join local artist Kelly Turner for an open studio session at the Mammoth Lakes Community Center for the first three Monday nights in February. New artists can try their hand at drawing or painting under Kelly’s guidance for $30, materials included. Other artists can join the open studio with their own pieces they are working on whether that be drawing, painting, sculpture, jewelry making, digital art and hang out and collaborate with other artists for $10 per session.
